Rexam Glass ( Barnsley)

Full CDM (Construction, Design and Management) of an upgrade from an open circuit cooling water system to a closed circuit system for cooling water to the compressor house. Responsibility for leason with the client, health and safety, appointment of designers and subcontractors. The extent of work included the design, fabrication and installation of all pipework, steelwork, pumps, civils, electrical control systems and cooling towers including the dismantling of the existing systems from height.

Rexam Glass ( Barnsley)

Main piping contractors for the rebuilding of the No.3 glass furnace. The work comprised of the supply, fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning of all new stainless and carbon steel pipework which conveyed gas, steam, water, high / low pressure air, vacuum, fuel oil, lagoon water and towns water. We also installed the new air receivers, water coolers, gas boosters, lagoon penstocks, furnace cooling fans, gas-fired heating system, instrumentation pipework and all in-line components. Structurally, we manufactured and erected, elevated platforms, overhead walkways, stairways, cullet bins, electrical ladder rack supports etc. We were commended for our efforts in the name of health and safety on site throughout the project

Waste water sludge treatment plant, Hoscar, Wigan. Full fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning of all process pipework ranging from large bore stainless steel to small bore instrumentation.

Fabrication, installation, testing & commissioning of water cooling pipework systems for the Queen Anne Blast Furnace (Corus, Scunthorpe) Including welding of 90/10 copper nickle alloy pipework and fittings.

TesTex NDT Ltd (Immingham)

Internal mechanical repairs to tank shell and replacement of tankside nozzles on 4 No semi buried bulk fuel storage tanks at Aldermaston PSD which were classified as previously containing leaded fuels. All internal works were carried out using breathing apparatus and working to OCTEL & confined space regulations.

Fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning of natural, methane and mixed gas pipework for the mines gas mixing project at Rexam Glass, Barnsley. All works were carried out in accordance with CORGI regulations and included the design, fabrication and installation of a road crossing pipe bridge.

The Oil and Pipelines Agency ( London)

Full CDM package for the mechanical and lining repairs to 4 No semi buried bulk fuel storage tanks at Rawcliffe PSD. Karden were appointed as the main contractor for the project and works included external pipework and valve replacement and various internal plate, weld and lining repairs. All personnel were trained for confined space entry and use of breathing apparatus.

Plate Mills reheater furnace repairs. Removal and replacement of heavy wall tri-oval skid pipework including dissimilar welding of inconnel rider bars with full non-destructive testing and inspection.

Supply, fabrication, testing and commissioning of Queen Bess Blast Furnace coal injection conveying pipework including the supply and installation of ceramic lined bends.

Main piping sub-contractor for the installation of gas cleaning plant piped services for the Queen Bess Blast Furnace at Corus, Scunthorpe. Included the installation of various piping systems (including internal glass flake lining) with full inspection and Quality Assurance Package.

Works included for the design, fabrication, inspection, testing and installation of both carbon steel and stainless steel pipework with associated walkways and access platforms. Works were completed with full inspection and Quality Assurance Package.

 American Air Filters UK

Supply, fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning of pneumatic control pipework for the desulpherisation and fume extraction project at Corus BOS plant.  Works included the supply and installation of receiving vessels and other proprietory equipment.  Works were completed with full inspection and Quality Assurance Package.
